Principal's Message

The staff, students and parents of Pinar Elementary are proud of the academic achievement of our students. We strive to educate the “whole child”, which includes the social, emotional, as well as their academic elements. Our curriculum is enhanced by the implementation of i-Ready Reading and Math, and Accelerated Reader computer programs. In a continued effort to provide rich instructional opportunities for our students we offer morning tutoring for students in grades 3-5 and Saturday tutoring for grades 2-5. Students also have the opportunity to participate in school clubs which include STEM Club, Garden Club, Chorus, and Battle of the Books Reading Club. The Champions before and after school program is available to parents. Pinar’s curriculum is also enhanced with our high quality Art, Music, and Physical Education programs provided on a weekly basis. These programs help to make learning meaningful as well as enjoyable for students.

Our teachers receive extensive professional development training in order to stay abreast of best educational practices. Our goal is to ensure that our teachers are preparing our students to meet the challenges of the growing curriculum and rigorous state assessments.

The doors of Pinar Elementary are always open to visitors. However, we do require that visitors sign-in at the office to obtain a visitor’s badge in order to ensure the safety of our children. Feel free to speak to administration regarding our curriculum and programs. Volunteers are welcome and we invite participation in SAC and PTA. We are proud of our students and the efforts of our staff.
